Today is my cousin Lee’s birthday. The last time I saw him was at my wedding in 1999. I spoke to him a few time after that but he moved and changed his phone numbers. We loss touch.

Lee, I miss you where ever you are! I love you even more!! I think about you often and pray your life is all you ever wanted it to be. May all your dreams come true.

Life is Short

Often times we are so caught up on the GO GO GO . We forget to stop and smell the roses. Maybe not see ever see a sunrise or a sunset.
In junior high school walking home from the bus stop I passed this one house every day. One day I saw this girl looking out her window. A few days later she was sitting outside waiting for me. I meet my best friend Josie for the next year or so. Next we meet Joey the boy next door (really across the street). They became a couple. Then one day something happened between all of us. We did not speak again.
Twenty plus years later thanks to FACEBOOK she sends me a friend request. I thought about accepting then I decided not to. I did look at her pictures to see how her life had turned out. I was pleased to see that Joey and Josie had gotten married. After that I could not stop thinking about them. Wishing it had not been such a sad spot in my heart. I thought that I should maybe in box her on FACEBOOK and ask her why after all these years she wanted to “Friend” me. Then a few days ago she sent a friend request again. There was my chance to ask what I wanted to know and tell her how I felt now that I am all grown up with kids almost the age we were when we met I forgive her. While catching up the news that she lost her husband. The love of her life recently broke my heart. Had I only accepted that request the first time. I could have gotten to know Joey again as an adult.
Instead I sit her sad. My heart is breaking for her, his parents, his children, and all those who are left behind after his death.

REST IN PEACE even though your time on earth was short
